My friend Tom works at the Firestone plant in Bloomington, IL. The History Channel did a segment about the enormous mining equipment tires he helps build. Pretty cool stuff.
This jingle rocks out compared to all the other junk I've posted. This is a generic spot for Pontiac's whole 1987 auto line with the "we build excitement" jingle.
One of many commercials featuring the California Raisins, a group of motown-singing anthropomorphized raisins made out of clay Peter-Gabriel style. If I looked down and saw my raisins walking out of the box and dancing around, I don't think I'd ever eat another one. From 1987.
Sadly, no "time to make the donuts" line in this quickie :10 spot for Dunkin Donuts. It does have the little guy with the moustache though. Circa 1986.
We interrupt tonight's presentation to bring you the following special report! It doesn't need any more introduction than that. You'll probably have to watch this one twice... once for the dialogue and again to read the news ticker at the bottom of the screen.

"The Great American Road" jingle! Full-sing, tailored just for the Regal. In my mind, 1987 is when a lot of GM cars started to look more stylized and contemporary and less boxy, and this is a good example. My parents had both an '86 and an '87 Olds and they were very different from each other.
Yet another commercial for the original 8-track-based 2XL educational "robot". It was basically a glorified 8-track deck with some cleverly-produced (but horribly-voiced) tapes. For more info on 2XL visit http://www.pickletre ats.com/2xl/
I'm not sure why the Fry Guys (or the gender-neutral Fry KIDS as they are referred to in this ad) were what they were. How does a colored ball of yarn with legs represent fries? From 1987.
Ahhh, two classic ABC sitcoms from 1987 promoted here: Perfect Strangers and Head Of The Class. I always had trouble seeing Howard Hesseman in any role except for Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP in Cinncinnati.
